We as human beings are constantly striving towards something. Whether big or small, meaningful or meaningless, our life’s path is heading towards SOMETHING. We each have dreams and aspirations, bucket lists and goals. So much of life’s goodness happens as we reach out and take action in our striving.
Friday night I had one of those moments of goodness as I sat listening to Jasmine Star in a room filled with other photographers. We were all there with one purpose in mind, how can we grow our businesses? What I loved was the shift of thinking to, how can we help each other grow our businesses? That is the kind of industry I want to be a part of.
I am so thankful for the experience to hear Jasmine speak and to have met so many other amazingly talented photographers in Miami.
I’ll leave you with a quote that Jasmine shared with us at theFIX:
“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.” – Peale
What action do you need to take to fulfill your life’s goals and aspirations?
Here are a few photos from the night at The Awarehouse in Miami.
It was so good to be able to catch up with Danielle, who I met in September at WPPI-U in Atlanta.
It was equally as wonderful to meet some new South Florida photogs. (And Jasmine, of course!)Jasmine’s husband, JD, was there as well. They just melt my heart. What a dream team.More new friends! (Plus Liz, who traveled all the way from Panama!)Ok…one last thought on taking action to reach your goals. This comes straight from Jasmine Star’s magazine, Exposed:
“Do the work. You can find every reason to envision how lucky someone else is, but the simple truth is that person is working hard. Maybe even harder than you. Because nobody successful gets that way by sitting on his booty. The most admired photographers and businessmen and entrepreneurs and doctors and scientists and lawyers are often the hardest working, so please know there is no such thing as luck. You know that quote? ‘Luck is when preparation meets opportunity?’ I couldn’t agree more.” – Jasmine Star
